annostor is European technology: it integrates standards-based and open source applications and does not use third-party cloud services. Your data stays within a trusted European infrastructure at all times.
We retain only your email address, for access control purposes. No additional personal data is collected or stored beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service.
annostor uses a single, strictly necessary cookie. Your browser receives it on your first visit. It keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. The cookie carries nothing but a random session identifier. Everything it refers to stays on our own servers. It cannot be read by scripts, and it is removed when you sign out or twelve hours after your last visit. We set no analytics or advertising cookies and do not track you across other websites, so there is nothing here to opt into. Your browser also remembers your light or dark theme preference locally. That setting never leaves your device.
We do not share your research data with any third parties unless you specifically choose to do so, for example, when publishing annotations to a public repository like Zenodo.
annostor does not rely on third-party cloud services for storing or processing your data. Authentication is handled via ORCID, which is governed by its own privacy policy.
